Education Royale / Brand Strategy & Web Design

Building a brand to earn trust

Education Royale is a Swiss-based educational consultancy run by an advisor with over thirty years of experience placing students in the most prestigious boarding schools. The audience is high-income families from the Gulf region, making one of the most significant decisions of their lives for their child.

She had the experience, the network, and the reputation. What she didn't have was a brand, a website or a media presence. That’s where our work began.

This project demonstrates something I find consistently true in branding: the more specific brief, the more important it is to get the strategy right before touching the design.

Where we started

This wasn't a straightforward brand build. The audience sits at the intersection of two very different cultural contexts — Swiss institutional prestige and Gulf family values — and a brand that speaks naturally to one can easily feel wrong to the other.

Gulf families build trust through relationships and personal introductions. Swiss luxury communicates through restraint and understatement. The brand needed to work in both registers without feeling like a compromise in either.

Brand strategy & positioning

The key insight early on: she isn't selling a service, she's offering a relationship. Gulf families aren't looking for an admissions agency, they're looking for someone they can trust with their child. That distinction shaped every decision that followed.

The positioning became simple: she is the bridge between the right family and the right school. Her network, her judgment, and her discretion are the product. The schools are almost secondary.

From there, three brand territories emerged — discreet, generational, precise — chosen because they carry genuine meaning in both cultural contexts, just with slightly different emotional weight depending on who's reading.

The brand name — Education Royale — was chosen to carry both worlds: the French register of Swiss prestige and international education, and the connotations of nobility, excellence, and distinction that resonate deeply with Gulf families for whom legacy and status are deeply held values.

tone of voice

A significant part of this project was building a voice from scratch. The advisor speaks from her experience throughout the site. This is a deliberate choice, because in Gulf culture trust is built person to person, not with institutions.

The copy needed to feel warm and personal for a Gulf audience, while remaining measured and authoritative for a European one. Rather than writing two separate versions, I developed a single voice that naturally carries both.

The lead brand line:

"Some doors require the right introduction."

It signals exclusivity without arrogance, positions her as the essential bridge, and resonates with a Gulf audience who understand instinctively that this is how important things get done.

visual identity

The visual approach was to find design language that genuinely belongs to both worlds. Not a fusion, but a real overlap.

The palette anchors in emerald green and antique gold — emerald for Swiss institutional weight, gold as the connective tissue between both cultures, used with enough restraint to feel Swiss rather than pompous. The geometric motifs of the logo draw from both Swiss grid design and Islamic tessellation traditions. The result feels like it could belong to a generations-old institution, which is exactly the trust signal needed on both sides.

UX & web design

The site needed to work hard as a trust-builder for referred visitors: families who have been told about her by someone they trust and are arriving to confirm she's the real thing.

Each page is structured around the Gulf family's actual decision-making journey, addressing the questions they're really asking — about safety, cultural and religious accommodation, language, and what happens after placement.

One deliberate UX choice that made a real difference: a WhatsApp button, visible on every page. For Gulf families, WhatsApp is the preferred channel for any communication that matters — ahead of email, ahead of phone calls. Removing that friction and making direct personal contact immediately available was a small decision with a significant impact on how approachable the brand feels to its audience.

strategic design decisions

Personal tone of voice. The most deliberate choice in the entire project was centring the advisor as a person, not a company. Her name, her face, her first-person voice, and her personal philosophy are present on every page. This is unconventional for a professional services brand but was essential for this audience.

Exclusivity. The fact that she works with only a small number of families each year is framed throughout not as a sales tactic but as a mark of genuine care about the families she supports.

Cultural aspect. The Gulf-facing communication acknowledges halal meals, prayer arrangements, and Ramadan without reducing the audience to those concerns. It treats these as natural considerations for any thoughtful advisor to address — because they are.

project outcome

Education Royale launched as a complete brand from a standing start — strategy, identity, copy, and website. The site is live at educationroyale.com.

The brand is now positioned to operate credibly in both the Swiss educational establishment and the Gulf family networks it serves, two worlds that require very different things from a brand, and that this identity was built to bridge. Built on one clear insight about who she is and what her audience actually needs from her.
